Cornish fishermen have blamed their French counterparts for wrecking their crab and lobster pots.
According to the Cornish men, the French trawlers are illegally entering British waters and wrecking the Cornish gear with their fishing activities.
One fishermen, who has lost around £5,000 worth of gear, said that the French are regularly destroying equipment inside and outside the six mile exclusion zone which is for UK fishing only.
The Cornish fishermen have said that their gear is clearly marked.
A similar case happened in East Yorkshire a couple of years ago, when Bridlington-based fishermen reported their gear being damaged by the French. This is yet another example of EU meddling, where all and sundry from the continent can come and plunder our seas whilst our own fishermen struggle to make a living.
