The Avro Lancaster
A special fly past was held today to mark the 65th anniversary of the Dambusters raid.
On 16th May 1943, the Avro Lancasters of 617 Squadron dropped “bouncing bombs” on German dams in the Ruhr valley.
A total of 19 aircraft set out on the raid, and though eight were lost, and 53 crew lost [...]

Where are we – Scarborough, or Warsaw?

Police are said to be examining computers seized after two men were arrested in Nottingham under the Terrorism Act.
The two men, of Pakistani descent, were arrested at the University of Nottingham’s University Park Campus on Wednesday morning.

An Afghan hijacker, who won the right to stay in Britain, has been working as a cleaner at Heathrow Airport.
Nazamuddin Mohammidy was part of a group who hijacked an internal Ariana flight in 2000 and forced it to come to the UK, where they threatened to kill everyone on board unless they were granted asylum.
