Bin Laden’s “right hand man” granted bail

Firebrand preacher Abu Qatada, described as “Osama Bin Laden’s right hand man in Europe”, has been granted bail.

Last month Qatada defeated the government’s attempts to have him deported to Jordan, and will now live under 22 hour curfew after his release.

It is believed that some of the bail money was put up by Norman Kember, who was held hostage in Iraq for four months at the end of 2005.

This comes a month after the government was prevented from deporting 12 Libyan terror suspects. There has not been one single deportation of a terror suspect since the 7th July terrorist attacks, and the only suspects to leave left voluntarily.

Qatada was convicted in his absence of involvement with terror attacks and has called on British-based Muslims to “martyr” themselves.

He is expected to return to his family in Acton, and will receive £1,000 a month in taxpayer-funded benefits. There will also be a massive bill for keeping him under observation.

Yet another failure to protect the public caused by the Human Rights lobby.
