The Battle of Tewkesbury – last battle of the War of the Roses
On 4th May 1471, the Battle of Tewkesbury, which was the last battle in the War of the Roses, took place. The Yorkists were victorious over the Lancastrians.
On 4th May 1780, the first Derby was run at Epsom. It was won by Diomed.
