Sir Isaac Newton defined gravity
On 20th March 1413 King Henry IV of England died.
On 20th March 1727 Sir Isaac Newton died. Newton had defined the laws of gravity, as well as heading the Royal Mint and serving as an MP. He was buried in Westminster Abbey.

Osama bin Laden has threatened the EU over the reprinting of cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad.

A memorial event has been held for the victims of the IRA bombing in Warrington fifteen years ago.
Twelve year old Tim Parry and three year old Johnathan Ball died, and 56 people were injured in the explosions on 20th March 1993.

Maternity units across England were turning away women in labour last year because they were full. More than 40% of 103 Trusts who responded to a survey said they had to turn women away, or send them to other places. One hospital Trust reported closing 28 times.

A new appeal will be launched to raise £1million for the Suffolk Punch Trust. The Trust had hoped to get money from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) for a new centre, but their request was turned down. They had hoped for £965,000 for a heritage and learning centre at Hollesley near Woodbridge.
