Bideford Town Council in Devon had always started their meetings with a prayer, a tradition stretching back to the reign of Elizabeth I. Their prayers had been uninterrupted by wars, but now may be consigned to the history books by political correctness.

The United Nations has condemned the Flemish housing code which states that anyone wanting to qualify for social housing must speak Dutch or be willing to learn it.
They claim it discriminates against those who do not speak the language, and many French-speaking Belgians (Walloons) have long complained about the code, saying it discriminates against them [...]
