The Chelsea Hospital
On 11th March 1682 the Chelsea Hospital was founded by Charles II. It was designed by Sir Christopher Wren and based on the Hopital des Invalides in Paris.
On 11th March 1864 the Bradford Reservoir, near Sheffield, burst its banks and killed 250 people.

Nine illegal immigrants have vanished after police gave them free rail tickets and told them to make their way to a detention centre.

School leavers will be encouraged to take an oath of allegiance to the Queen and country under new proposals currently being unveiled on British citizenship.
