Archaeologists in York have uncovered an Iron Age waterhole on the site of an extension to York University.
The waterhole has a preserved wickerwork lining and contains fragments of wood. It is believed to be about 2,500 years old.
The site also contains an important Roman building, and archaeologists from the university are planning more digs there.

A helicopter pilot based at RAF Benson in Oxfordshire has become the first female pilot to be awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC).
Michelle Goodman, 31, received the honour after saving a life whilst under heavy fire in Iraq in June 2007. Flight Lieutenant Goodman flew her Merlin helicopter into the centre of Basra to rescue [...]
